Mountain Bike Instructors Award Scheme

Tracs Delamere is a training provider for MIAS offering a range of courses for prospective and current cycling MTB leaders.

MIAS has been in operation since 1989 and has been developed further by liaising and working with awarding bodies including ABC & NCFE.

To date it has over 12,400 members, with 35 providers of the scheme.

MIAS meets the needs for structured training for those involved in leading mountain bike trips.

The award has been operating throughout the UK and abroad, and has run many courses for the armed services in Kenya, Germany and Cyprus.

MIAS has been instrumental in the development of QCF Mountain Bike accreditation, working with the Awarding Body LAO. MIAS Currently offers QCF/LAO Level 2 Award in Assisting Mountain-Bike Activity Leadership

Advanced Workshop (2 Day Course)

Day One of the workshop includes a full comprehensive clean of your bike before you disassemble it. This process includes servicing/truing of the wheel-set and both hubs.

Day Two will be a complete rebuild of your bike replacing the gear and brake cables which includes lubricating all parts before assembly.

Set up of gears and brakes concluding the day with a short test ride.

All parts used will have a 10% discount during the course.

All tools will be supplied by Tracs (U.K) Ltd. Your instructors will be Cytech level 2 & 3 qualified technicians.

Basic Workshop (one day course)

This one day workshop starts with a comprehensive clean of your bike before we instruct you on brake setup and pad replacement.

The course includes gear cable replacement, headset and bottom bracket service.

You will leave the course in the knowledge that you can confidently maintain your bike.

Stag and Hen parties

Delamere Forest makes us a great location for all stag & hen parties.

One of the great things about the forest is the great sense of fun and freedom it brings with getting close to nature.

This is a great healthy team building activity for both male and female parties creating lasting memories.

Guided Rides - Corporate

Why not use our facilities to train, motivate and reward your staff with a mountain bike experience specifically tailored to your requirements.

Explore our miles of seamless single-track and pedal away the frustrations of life!

Use this activity to celebrate success, motivate staff, for improved dynamics and goal attainment.

Bespoke skills

We also offer a bespoke skills course that is tailor-made to your requirements. You choose who attends and what skills/subjects are covered.

All our courses are coached by a MIAS trained instructor who is fully D.B.S. cleared.

We also invite outside professional instructors to run various courses.

Schools and youth groups

We can offer cycle skills training for schools and youth groups as part of the curriculum or on 'enrichment' days.

Tracs (UK) have been providing Cycle Skills training for many years both at schools and at Delamere Forest.

We offer BTEC Diploma (Edexcel Short Course) in mountain biking.

Facilities

We have skills ramps, go-ride equipment and bikes to conduct cycle skills training in a progressive manner in preparation for forest riding or curriculum based activities.

This activity can make a unique contribution to personal growth through a shared experience, improved confidence and learning with peers.

We can provide these sessions to all youth groups, including Cadets, Scouts, Guides and Youth Clubs. We also can provide cycle training, skills and maintenance for Duke of Edinburgh Award Schemes.

Tracs (U.K.) Ltd are providers of the Mountain Bike Instructors Award Scheme (M.I.A.S.) which is a national standard for leadership and coaching.

All Instructors are fully qualified trail leaders and first aid trained.
